Why Email Marketing?
Updated: Apr 25, 2025
Email marketing is a great way to keep customers informed about new products, discounts, and special offers, while also encouraging customer loyalty. It’s a direct and personal form of communication that can really help boost engagement when done right.
For one of the projects, I created an email campaign to promote a new product launch. The goal was to introduce a limited edition flavour from the well-known chocolate brand Tony’s Chocolonely, their fictional Pistachio Dubai Chocolate Bar.
As shown in the image below, this email campaign was all about generating early excitement and interest around this unique new release.

Why Use Email Marketing to Launch This Product?
Since Tony’s Chocolonely is a well-established brand with a loyal customer base, email marketing made perfect sense. The campaign was designed to be sent to everyone in the brand’s email database, giving subscribers that feeling of exclusivity, they were the first to hear about this exciting new product.
This kind of early access can spark word-of-mouth buzz, especially for a trendy, limited-edition item like this one. And that can quickly lead to more potential customers checking out the product.
The Reason Behind the Design and Layout
All the design elements, colours, fonts, and imagery, were carefully chosen to match Tony’s Chocolonely’s brand guidelines. The bold, playful and slightly quirky style reflects the brand’s existing website and overall identity, keeping everything visually consistent.

When it came to the layout, the most important element was the waitlist sign-up call to action. Since the goal was to create demand and a sense of urgency, this was placed right at the top of the email to catch attention immediately and make it easy to take action.
To finish off the email, I included a recipe suggestion using the new chocolate bar. This adds a fun, practical element to the campaign, giving the product a second purpose and helping it stand out from other chocolate brands.
This campaign was designed to not only inform but also engage, excite, and convert. By sticking to brand style, offering early access, and adding a creative twist, the email delivers real value while helping to build anticipation for the product launch.
